Cisco 2901 FXS Analog Port Card Install

Hi, I’m trying to install a Cisco 2 port FXS card into a Cisco 2901 router. I’ve read the tutorials and understand the router must be unplugged when the card is being installed. My fear, however, is upon reboot will any issues arise. I.e. I’ve read sometimes the router will lose its configuration upon reboot. If anyone could Clarify the install, and power cycle process I’d really appreciate it.

It shouldn't wipe the router config its just a module , make sure though its powered down as its not an oir module , when its inserted power it back on and then check the show inventory to make sure it can be seen

what you could do is save it config flash first then power it down and insert the card , if it somehow does wipe the config , then all you have to do is push the pre install config back to running config to get yourself out of a hole

copy run flash:pre-fxs-install.cfg

then to push it back to router

copy flash:pre-fxs-install.cfg running-config

Thanks for the prompt reply. After reboot would the card need to enabled via the console?
