Do any of models between 3900/2900 or 3800/2800 support the following features:

Compression

Encryption

WAN Optimization, and

Full Featured QOS

We have a requirment where we have to provide solution for SAN Replication Services between the Headquarters and DR and the these features will be the key in order to accelerate traffic throughput.

Please advice, and if they do support the features will it require additional modules.

Thanks

Encryption

Depends on your IOS.

WAN Optimization

Depends if you buy the optional module.

Full Featured QOS

Depends on the feature set or license.

What is the WAN speed?  I don't recommend using a WAAS module because the capacity may not be enough (depending on your WAN speed).

Leo's post covers it all.  Might add, the 2900/3900 series are "faster" than the "equivalent" 2800/3800 series model.  The former/newer series has a few more features, such as some additional or upgradable modules.

Oh, on QoS, much depends on what you consider full features, but doubt you would find many, if any, differences running same code on the different platforms.  Also don't recall much QoS dependencies on IOS feature licenses.
