Hi everyone
does anyone know of any method that would allow wan mode change when the link fails?
For example if the connection is running on Ethernet and if the ISP fails, is there a way that would allow it change the WAN mode to DSL and use that connection?
Is it possible via SNMP or something?
thanks

You could use EEM to turn one interface off and activate the other then as another option when you need to or base it on a trigger event that initiates it , why cant it run the 2 wan connections should be capable

Hi
If the DSL is on a separate interface yes you can track it and change over to the other ISP link when one fails using multiple methods , but if your asking can you can one physical link change from say DSL to ATM or MPLS after one fails then no as its the underlying physical medium is different , different cabling technology etc back to the ISP its not possible on your end and theres
to flip over to a second wan interface on the router you can use ip sla with pbr and tracking

Hi Mark
The issue I have is the router cannot run both WAN mode at the same time, ie it can only run either in DSL mode or Ethernet. (both dsl and ethernet is on separate interface)
I don't think PBR will work?
