Hi Guys,

i have a bit of an odd setup, which as been working fine until now, now cant figure out why it doesn't connect.

i have a bridge modem connected to FE1, then using vlan 100 to do the dialing, config and log below, any ideas why it now doesnt work? i think the modem could be faulty, although when you plug a laptop directly into it and create a PPPoE dialer it works fine.

interface FastEthernet1
 switchport access vlan 100
 no ip address

 interface Vlan100
 description SPARK INTERNET
 no ip address
 pppoe enable group global
 pppoe-client dial-pool-number 1

interface Dialer0
 ip address negotiated
 ip access-group filter_incoming in
 no ip redirects
 no ip unreachables
 no ip proxy-arp
 ip mtu 1452
 ip nat outside
 ip virtual-reassembly in
 encapsulation ppp
 ip tcp adjust-mss 1412
 dialer pool 1
 ppp mtu adaptive
 ppp authentication pap
 ppp pap sent-username <Blank> password 0 <Blank>

Then i have turned on the following debugs

Generic ATM:
  ATM events debugging is on
PPP:
  PPP authentication debugging is on
PPP protocol errors debugging is on
PPP protocol negotiation debugging is on
PPPoE:
PPPoE protocol events debugging is on
PPPoE protocol errors debugging is on
VPN:
  VPDN errors debugging is on

Logging:

Hi there,

We had exactly the same situation.

Fortunately, I found a German blog here: http://jorde.it/2015/03/pppoe-connection-schlaegt-mit-c886vaj-k9-und-ios-15-43m2-fehl/

The solution for us is changing the configuration from “ppp packet throttle 10 1 30” to "ppp packet throttle 20 1 30".

We tried and it works great!

Hope it helps!

Regards,

Hai.
