Hi there,
we've recently bought a cisco asr 1001 Router and I have a number of interface slots. I want to populate these with fibre modules.
Can you tell me which fibre modules are compatible please? Are the regular SFPs ok to use or is there a special asr series of SFPs to use?
Many thanks,
Paul

Paul,
You are correct that GLC-T & GLC-SX-MM are not supported with ASR1000 platform.
Following link confirms that:
Following SFP are supported with ASR1000 platform:
SFP-GE-T
SFP-GE-S
SFP-GE-L
SFP-GE-Z
CWDM SFP
DWDM SFP
GLC-BX-D
GLC-BX-U
I have handled similar case yesterday where GLC-T wouldn't work aith ASR1k & I confirmed that this would not be supported in future as well.

Amit

Hi,
thanks for the reply.
So am I correct in saying that the GLC-SX-MM and GLC-T are not compatible with the Cisco ASR 1001?
Thanks,
Paul

That's correct and I agree with you.
The output below is from my ASR 1002 and a GLC-LH:
NAME: "subslot 0/0 transceiver 0", DESCR: "GE LX"
PID: N/A , VID: 0000, SN: FNS13345D11

Guys,
thanks very much for your help.
Is the SFP-10G-SR compatible with the Cisco ASR 1001?
Thanks,
Paul

Hi Leo,
The built-in Gigabit Ethernet ports on the Cisco ASR1002 Router and 5x1 GE SPA does not support GLC-T ???
Thanks very much !

For the ASR, you need "SFP-GE-T".

Oh God , I made a mistake , I have bought GLC-T , I looked GLC-SX-MM can work , so I thought GLC-T should work too ........

If you haven't broken the seal then there's a fair chance you can return the module.
I based my decision on this link: Cisco Gigabit Ethernet Transceiver Modules Compatibility Matrix, Table 11 Router Support

Thank you Leo , what I only can do now is praying.

You sure you can't use the GLC-T somewhere else in your network?

Good news is GLC-T works on ASR1K.
