Hi!
We have a ASR 1001 and are not using the Management port for management purpose. Is it possible to use the Gi0 management port for other things that just management and is it operating in the same way as the other ports in the router?

Hey,
Here is the respons you will get from Cisco, on their Route Processor documentation.
Q. Are routing protocols supported on the 10/100/1000BASE-T management interface?
A. Yes, routing protocols are supported on the management interface. However, the management interface is strictly for management purposes only, with limited packet forwarding.
I've honstly never tried really configuring one as an additional port, so I don't have any real first have experience, as far as that goes with the ASRs.

You cannot use the interface like the other ports. It is restricted to the management VRF and will not forward traffic.

You can not use Gi0 management interface it is purly dedicated for the management VRF and the VRF
Mgmt-intf is automatically configured for the management interface.
