Cisco ASR 1001-X 20Gig license issue

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding Cisco ASR 1001-X upgrade license. We've acquired a FLSA1-1X-2.5-20G license that should include the 20G throughput license (which it actually does) and FLSA1-BIN-2X10GE-P that would enable 2x 10Gig interfaces (which it doesn't).

We have generated the license using Cisco PAK, downloaded and installed it onto the ASR. The ASR was realoaded as well.

R1#license install http://somehost/LIC_FILE.lic
Installing licenses from "http://somehost/LIC_FILE.lic"

Loading http://somehost/LIC_FILE.lic Installing...Feature:throughput_20g...Successful:Supported
1/1 licenses were successfully installed
0/1 licenses were existing licenses
0/1 licenses were failed to install

R1#reload
Proceed with reload? [confirm]

But the issue is - there is no permanent "interface_10g" license, though I can see the new "throughput_20g" license being permanent and active. If we enable ten gig interface it activates only Evaluation license.

R1#show license all

Evaluation period left: 8 weeks 3 days
Period used: 39 minutes 27 seconds

Have anyone experienced anything alike? Maybe we are missing something? Any advice appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure, but I think FLSA1-1X-2.5-20G includes FLSA1-BIN-2X10GE-P.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/asr-1000-series-aggregation-services-routers/guide-c07-731639.html

ASR1001-X built-in 10 GE ports are turned on using port-based licenses. However, if the ASR1001-X is upgraded to 20G, then the two built-in ports are automatically included.

Hi Philip,

thanks for reply and this is exactly what I thought about, but that just doesn't seem to be legit when looking through the actual ASR licenses activated.. Maybe this is the way it is supposed to be? I have currently both 10G interfaces enabled and Evaluation license counter counting down and this scares me up..

Best Regards,

L

Hi again,

we just received additional FLSA1-BIN-2X10GE-P, and now everything is just great! So in case anyone will need this, you have to apply BOTH  FLSA1-BIN-2X10GE-P &&  FLSA1-BIN-2X10GE-P licenses, it is not that  "automatically" or "auto-magically" enabled :).

Thx,

L

Hi together

I am running in the same issue as you. (searching for a solution for hours) But i didn't get any additional licence. How did you enable the 10 Gig interfaces?

I found this but the 10 gig still in eval..
