Cisco ASR-920-24SZ-M IOS XE UPGRADE PROCESS

Hello;

Can someone can share upgrade process of Cisco ASR-920-24SZ-M from Fuji-16.x to 16.x+n

I have found this link and follow the process but not working

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr920/configuration/guide/sysmgmt/16-9-1/b-sysimgmgmt-xe-16-9-asr920/b-sysimgmgmt-xe-16-9-asr920_chapter_01.html#reference_BD3C2A887DD747C2BB148D49E43B6D13

bellow is the error I get:

lab-1-asr920#request platform software package install node file bootflash:asr920-universalk9_npe.16.09.04.SPA.bin
rsync: getaddrinfo: rp-standby 873: System error
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at ../rsync-3.1.2/clientserver.c(125) [sender=3.1.2]

Note that ROMMON upgrade has been done successfully from 15.6(10r)S to 15.6(32r)S

and the goal is to upgrade IOX-XE from Version 16.9.3 to Version 16.9.4

Thanks for your share

Hello,

not sure if that makes a difference, but the document you are referring to has the keywords marked in bold added:

request platform software package install node file bootflash:asr920-universalk9_npe.16.09.04.SPA.bin interface-module-delay 150

Hello and thank you for your reply, you are rigth even "interface-module-delay 150" at the end of the command, I got the same error message, so that I have tried just

boot system flash asr920-universalk9_npe.16.09.04.SPA.bin

```
lab-1-asr920#conf t
lab-1-asr920(config)#boot system flash asr920-universalk9_npe.16.09.04.SPA.bin
lab-1-asr920(config)#exit
lab-1-asr920#copy run startup-config
Destination filename [startup-config]?
Building configuration...
[OK]
lab-1-asr920#
lab-1-asr920#reload
After reboot, ASR-920-24SZ-M has been upgraded successfully from IOS XE 16.09.03 to 16.09.04
Is there someone who can share us how he has upgrade ASR-920-24SZ-M ?
Best regards;
This is the correct way to upgrade an ASR920.
The link you provided, while the title said "ASR920", is the procedure for an ASR903, which has dual RSPs and supports ISSU. The 920 only has one RSP.
