Cisco AVC- create a flow monitor- unrecognized command

I am setting up AVC on our ISR G2 router and creating a flow monitor as follows

flow monitor type mace FLOW_MONITOR_INPUT

Exporter xxx

when i write record , it says unrecognized as follows

xxxx(config-flow-monitor)#record ?
% Unrecognized command

if i write record and hit enter, it says incomplete command

xxxxx(config-flow-monitor)#record 
% Incomplete command.

I am using IOS v 15.4 and AVC is supported for that version

Could anyone please assist
