Thank you very much for you response, I have cisco 4006 catalyst & switch, In order to me to upgrade the firmware I need to download firmware file & tftp file am I correct, other thing is can I upgrade thru a windows or telnet.

since I'm a little confused, could you give me step by step instruction.

Hi Friend,

I believe you must be running CATOS on your switch and you are right that you need to download image frrom cisco website and then install tftp server on your machine and then you can upgrade image from tftp server which is installed on your machine to switch.
