You have two attributes that you would like to achieve: 1) correct/efficient 2) not expensive. They tend to be mutually exclusive. If you really want the process to be correct and efficient you really need to hire someone with better experience and insight that what you have. If you do not want to hire someone then your process of achieving the correct configuration will almost certainly be slow and error prone.
You need to decide how you will weigh the attributes and whether some compromise is possible (hire someone with some good experience but less than a truly experienced professional .
