Greetings
We have Cisco Router 7507.In order to deploy the ip cef with Dot1Q trunking we have to upgrade the IOS image of the Router. The Ram in my router is 64MB.
So far I have seen that all of the IOS images greater than 12.2 requires minimum of 128MB. Somehow currently we cannot upgrade the RAM of Router. Is there anyway to upgrade to the later version with 64MB Ram.
Regards

No. Unfortunately, there's no workaround for insufficient hardware.
But, I see 12.1(26)E5 supports dot1q trunking and it only requires 16/64 flash and memory. Why not use it?

In Reference to the following document
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk389/tk213/technologies_configuration_example09186a0080094b0a.shtml
I cannot configure ip cef with IOS older than 12.2.
Anyhow thanks for the support

I'm afraid that you will not be able to upgarde the software without also upgrading the memory.
Hope this helps,

The memory requirements are estimates. Sometimes when Cisco says you need 128MB, it works with 64MB DRAM too, but with minimum configuration. The only way to check is loading IOS and checking console when booting up...
