Hello

I am trying to configure my Cisco 4221/K9 and when I enter a command in the privileged mode it say the configuration is not supported. It has a linux terminal when I click the question mark in this case to finish my command like config terminal it says this configuration is not supported.

How can I resolve this issue. I just bought a new Cisco router with the latest IOS.

Thanks.
I did some research and found out why I was failing to configure in the
privileged mode. Firstly I needed to stop PNP and since the 4000 series
router are using SDN certain commands like config-terminal are not
applicable.
Anyway thanks for your efforts. I have successfully configured what I
needed on the router.

Regards
Clinton

Hello mubangaclinton,

what commands are you trying to configure on your router ?

What IOS version is running on your router ?

What licenses are installed ?

post

show version

show license install all

modern routers use a licensing model quite complex, so you likely need a license to use the feature you would like to configure.

It is not anymore only a question of version.

Hope to help

hello i have the same problem with my ISR4221 can you please help on how to solve it

Hello @ngugamas ,

from @mubangaclinton 's answer we undestand that his router was running SD WAN image and for this reason he could not configure it.

There are procedures for conversion to standard IOS image. And depending on the IOS XE version the image can be even the same shared for both uses.

Verify if this applies to you.

Hope to help
