Hi,
We have 49 HSRP groups on one interface of our current routers and need to migrate to the 4451's, but the limit appears to be 25. Does anyone know if this is a hardware limit that won't be increased or if there is a possibility for a firmware upgrade to increase it? I have already upgraded them to the latest release and it's at 25.
Thanks

Thank you to anyone who responded, but I have spoken to a Cisco support engineer now and it is indeed a hardware limit on the number of MAC addresses that can be stored. Only option would be an additional module for the switch that can support more addresses.

can you post show version (old and new device to understand the issue)
also post full logs you see on the new device.

Old devices are 3925's and show version provided. Don't currently have access to the new routers today. I can grab this, but don't think it's needed for the issue?
The 4451' s are on version 16.12 (

Hello,
does that limit still apply with HSRP version 2 (with 1 being the default I think) ?
interface GigabitEthernet0/0
--> standby version 2
