Cisco ISR4000 series + E1 G.703 Configuration with NIM-8CE1T1-PRI

Hi team,

Our customer had a Cisco 3945 with VWIC2-2MFT-G703, now, they have changed it for a Cisco ISR443 with NIM-8CE1T1-PRI and tells us that now the 2Mb link doesn't work for them.

I have searched for documentation to configure the NIM-8CE1T1-PRI card in E1 G.703 unstructured mode, but have not found any information.

I have only found a document that talks about this configuration but for VWIC cards "E1 G.703 Unstructured Configuration", my question is, the configuration is the same for VWIC cards and NIM cards?

https://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/access/1700/1721/software/feature/guide/t1e11721.html#wp73740

Can you provide me with some configuration example?

Thanks & Best Regards,

JuanMi

Hello @jmhalegre ,

if the command

channel-group 0 unframed

is not supported under the controller e1 configuration.

the feature is likely unsupported on the NIM on the new router.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hello @jmhalegre ,

what is the state of interfaces:

multilink1

multillink2

and of each member serial link ?

If you see LCP open up/up you should be fine otherwise if they are up/down or down/down there is an issue.

you can troubleshoot with

debug ppp negotiation

Hope to help

Giuseppe
