Hi Team:

I am having an error message on the syslog server that shows the following

May 30 15:16:42 20.20.20.2 17: *May 30 19:09:43.693: %MAINBOARD-3-I2CRW_ERROR: Write failure - Device @ 0x07, offset 0x00000002 on I2C bus 2
May 30 15:16:42 20.20.20.2 18: *May 30 19:09:43.845: %MAINBOARD-3-I2CRW_ERROR: Read failure - Device @ 0x07, offset 0x00000002 on I2C bus 2

stripping off the date and time of the syslog the error is:

%MAINBOARD-3-I2CRW_ERROR: Write failure - Device @ 0x07, offset 0x00000001 on I2C bus 2
%MAINBOARD-3-I2CRW_ERROR: Read failure - Device @ 0x07, offset 0x00000001 on I2C bus 2

Do you know this error, or have you experienced this error on a 3945E router,

Just in case, the router is using PVDMs.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello.

Try to reload the box.

If doesn't help you might need to replace it.

Hi Mikhail:

Thank you for your mail and suggestion.

We have rebooted the router, and the problem remains.  However is good to clarify that the router is working fine, it is under regular operation with no problem.

Do you have any debug or some other commands that could go deeper on finding out the real problem, maybe motherboard, DRAM, PVDM or something else?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Javier

Hello.

Could you paste whole log here to see what are the other messages around?

(I saw cases with environmental status issues, if so, please provide "show env" + " show inv" + "show ver")
