Cisco RV325 NAT Hairpinning and Firewall

Hi,

We used to have a RV016 and we repalced it recently with a RV325.

The same setup used to work fine on the RV016, but can't seem to make it work the same way on the new router.

We have 2 machines (a NAS and a DVR) with port forwarding setup. I can access both just fine from outside the network, but from inside I can't reach them through the public IP as long as the firewall is active. If I disable the firewall things work fine. As soon as I enable the firewall can't reach them from the LAN using the public IP. If I capture the traffic I see replies coming from the server's private IPs.

I think that on the RV016 it was a workaround for the dual WAN that helped (I had rules to send all traffic coming from the private subnet to the WAN interfaces). I can't seem to set such rules on the RV325 (as it knows how to do proper load balancing).

Any ideas on what to do in order to have this working?

Thanks,

Alex

You should just configure your access rule properly for your port:

Service is 8080, source iface is WAN1, source - any, destination - local ip of server.
