Cisco TSHOOT Certification Issue 642-832

Hello Experts,

I really wanted to post this question to an education forum but for some reason members can read items from the forum but can't post to them, I hopefully I'll get some help here.

Lets start off by saying I failed my TSHOOT test today.

I watched the following youtube for guidance on how to tackle the test(for those of you who decide check it out, the only section of the site that interests me is right at the end).

The speaker mentions that candidates can click on all three questions then click 'abort' and then all questions will be lost and candidates can start over again. That sounds good if you feel as though you've messed up. However, the question is does the exact same question appear after aborting? - I've just taken the test and I'm not sure....

Now, what TOTALLY threw me was when I clicked the device on which I thought the fault condition was located, then I clicked on which technology the fault is related to, and finally the solution to the fault condition - so far so good. Now, lets say I selected R4 as the device where the fault was located and went through the other two steps, but then decided the device was not R4 but instead say R1, I would then be presented with a completely different set of multiple choice questions for the technology the fault is releated and a different set of multiple choice questions for the solution to fault condition....... If that is the case does that mean its possible to get the right answer for each question if you choose the correct technology fault and correct solution fault associated with whatever device you think the fault is located?

I hope those of you willing to help can understand what I'm trying to say in the above paragraph :-)

I also noticed that the same multiple questions for technology faults and the same multiple questions for fault resolutions appeared depending on the what device you chose as the device on which the fault condition was located - or that is what I believe I saw - can someone confirm or denounce that?

As I you can tell I was thrown by the new structure of the exam.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Carlton

Carlton,

I know what you are talking about with that exam. What it looked like to me is that there really is only one solution to each troubleshooting scenario.

For example, if you were not getting a default route distributed into the core network and you look at the edge router and there is no default route in it, it can't be anything behind that edge router. It has to be the edge router has no default route to distribute.

But, if during tthat question, you look at all of the other devices, there will be potential solutions on each one because Cisco wants to make you dig for the answer. They are also going to try and throw you off a little to see what you know.

It was a different than any other test I have taken from Cisco, but it does test your knowledge and intermediate skill at troubleshooting.

But, it was confusing.

Wilson,

Extremely confusing...

I only wished I had watched it before taking the exam.
