Hello,

you (could) have several options, but it all depends on the firewall or router you are using. What model/type devices do you have ?

Hi @Georg Pauwen,

Thanks for responding!!!

lets take an example of FTD 2130....

i am connecting both PC on ethernet ports....

if it is not possible on  Firewall then do it on cisco router. i have one ISR4331

Any Other help is appreciated!!!!!

for router Yes you can
condig interface in router with BDI and then assing IP to BVI, finally make the BVI is GW for both PC.
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/lan-switching/integrated-routing-bridging-irb/200650-Understanding-Bridge-Virtual-Interface.html

for the ASA I think same BDI and BVI can apply and make both PC have same GW IP.

Hi @MHM Cisco World,

I can do it on cisco router with BVI...

But, i am curious about are we currently using BVI???

if yes, then where we use and whats the significance of it???

i went through that link. that was helpful, but i want more information about it.

+++ is it possible with firewall?????

I run lab and config R2 and R3 as host and config BVI IP as GW IP in both router and it work.

for ASA I will lab and check, I am now far from my home.
thanks

!!!!!!!

in service provider the engineer use it to interconnect two customer  for L2 VPN.
the two customer connect to same SR router and hence the router need BDI/BVI to interconnect them.

got it.

is this scenario possible with the firewall and two PC????

I run lab, and I confirm that ASA FW can bridge two host and the two hosts have same GW which is BVI.
