Hello,

User name and password on console can be stored on router database or on a tacacs server.

Line console 0

login local

Username cisco password cisco

If you issue show run command you can see user name and password. If you use

Username cisco secrect cisco, your password will be stored encrypted.

2- You can ping your devices from your router and check the arp table.

Show arp or show arp-table [Check the command with ? mark. it varies on different router]

If you could not find the exact interface, copy the mac-address corresponding to your firewall IP and chack mac-address table to find the exact interface.

Show mac address-table

Hope it helps,

Masoud

No, currently all devices are not connected. I'm asking how to physically connect them, as there are so many ports at back panel for firewall and router. this is the first time setup

not connected how to show arp?

console is password protected, how to show run? I think it is default user name and password, pls advice

Hello,

You need to connect port 1 to your HP internal router and port 5 to your firewall edge router. I supposed your firewall is connected to the Internet.

You connect to your router by console.

If it asks username and passwork, enter cisco.

Please watch this video which helps you to connect to your router by putty software

No, as in my original thread, HP router is the ISP router, connecting to internet, my 880 is internal router, pls re-advice the physical connection of the ports of different network device: internet router, 880 router and firewall (checkpoint).

Hello,

Try cisco /cisco as username and password in console.

Have a look on the below link for basic setup cisco 800 series routers.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/access/800/837/hardware/quick/guide/qsg/837qsg.html

and if you want to perform password recovery for router then check out the below link.

Hope it Helps..
