Copy IOS via console

Evening all,

This might not be the right section for this but does anyone know of a way to copy an IOS from a router/switch to a computer via console cable?  I know you can do the computer to router via console in rommon.

Now why would you want to do that?  Can't you just copy the IOS from one computer to another?

I need to get the IOS from the router and run a MD5 on it from my computer but do not have a network connection available to it.  I know there is a verify command on the box but I need to do it on the computer.

I don't think it can be done but I'm just making sure.

Depending on the version of IOS running, try the command "verify /md5 flash:.bin".
