Hello everyone!
A bit of topology background: I currently have two edge routers facing IX's. Behind the two edge routers, I have two core routers. These core routers are connected to other routers running OSPF and iBGP.
Please refer to the sample topology below:
R1 - Core1 - iBGP - Edge1 - IX
X |
R2 - Core2 - iBGP - Edge2 - IX
I'm currently wondering what the best practice is for aggregating routes. Should I aggregate at the core or at the edge?
Hoping for your insights.
Best Regards,
Blitz

Hello @blitzperf ,
are the Edge1, Edge2 routers also running OSPF or only BGP with iBGP sessions with the core routers ?
if Edge1 and Edge2 are running only BGP, core01 and core02 have to advertise OSPF learned routes to Edgex.
And where is NAT performed ? on the Edge devices ?
Hope to help
Giuseppe

Hello @Giuseppe Larosa ,
Apologies for the late revert.
Edge1 and Edge2 are only running iBGP sessions with the core routers.
Yes, NAT is performed on the Edge devices.
Best regards,
Blitz
