CSR1000v - what gets placed on premise?

I'm just trying to wrap my mind around the idea of a csr100v for our remote offices.  I'm not clear on the topology.  today users connect to a switch - router - dmvpn (over a broadband connection).

exactly how would that look if we had a csr1000v?

Nothing...kind of...since the csr1000v is a virtual router. At a remote site you will typically have an Ethernet handoff from the ISP. You could plug that into a physical NIC on your ESXi server and also assign another interface to the virtual router for inside traffic. So it would look more like this-

switch--[vmware|router]--dmvpn
