Disaster recovery using OTV

I would like to use OTV for disaster recovery. When my  primary site fails over to the recovery site

I would like all the systems (VMs) to come up with the same IP addresses as what was on the

primary site. I believe I can do this through the CAM table. So this would mean I would have to

replace  the MAC addresses from the primary site  in the CAM table to  the MAC addresses on the recovery

site , Is this correct? Is this a manual process?

Hello, When you use OTV, the AED (authoritative edge device) advertises out which mac addresses are present at its own site to the other edge devices of other sites. This is not a manual process, OTV is automatic.

One thing you have to be careful of is your default gateway. If you want same default gateway to exist in both primary and DR site you need to use FHRP filter on OTV to stop them from grouping if you use things like hsrp etc... in your primary and DR sites.
