Does applying an access list + nat statement interupt traffic flow?

If I am applying an access list + a nat outside statement to a swi on a 6500 will that interupt traffic flowing through that interface (obviouslt will have an effect on traffic it is refering to but what about traffic that it has nothing to do with?

The traffic will be denied due to the implicit deny statement.
