downgrade 9300 from fuji to everest

So I upgraded my cisco 9300 to fuji from everest however I did not realize that fuji requires smart licensing.  Is it possible for me to downgrade to everest from fuji?  Will it revert back to traditional licensing or will it still require the smart licensing?  How do I revert back to use traditional licensing

Cisco Smart Licensing (CSL) starts from 16.9.X (and later).
From 16.8.X and earlier is the traditional license.
Downgrading from 16.9.X to 16.8.X (and earlier) goes back to traditional license.
