DSCP Marking in ISPEC Transport Mode

We are having a nework with DMVPN over IPSEC tunnel with Transport mode.

We have SIP, RTP and other LAN traffic with the corresponding DSCP marking coming from LAN network gets encapsulated with esp header.

My question is if this DSCP marking of the LAN traffic is preserved or passed into the outer IP Layer which includes the WAN IP  address?

Hello @sbhuiyan1 ,

Yes , it should be by default without any explicit configuration the external DSCP should be copied from the payload /carried packet.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Generally, it's as Giuseppe notes on most, if not all, Cisco routers (Cisco switches too, on those that support it). However really, really (really) old Cisco routers didn't copy the ToS and a router might remark the outer packet differently (via configuration). Also keep in mind, what other vendors do might differ.
