Dynamic OSPF cost on GRE interface?

Hi

Is there any way to have dynamic ospf cost on an GRE interface insted of static (ip ospf cost 1234)

It would be nice to have the ability to have the GRE tunnel to inherit the actual cost of the path to the tunnel destination.

Type , if the cost is 35 to tunnel destination in the global routingtable (if the tunnel use global routing) for the primary path over the network, the cost would be 35 for the GRE interface, but if there is a failure in the network so the GRE needs to take an other path, the new path may be over small links and it would be to slow performance for the traffic that use the GRE interface. Lets say that the new actual cost to the GRE tunnel desinatin is 10000, it would be nice to have that cost dynamicaly inherit to the GRE tunnel cost what now would be 10000 insted of the old 35 and traffic that uses the GRE tunnel now can use an outher path with lower cost.

Many thanks

/Daniel Nilsson

The only Cisco techonology that I'm aware of that might effectively provide results similar to what you desire, would be OER/PfR with PIRO (NB: don't know if it supports GRE tunnels).
