Hi
Network Z - PIX - (L2)Switch- Router A - Router B - router -C -(L2) Switch- PIX - Network W
Network Z - PIX - (L2)Switch- Router D - Router E - router -F -(L2) Switch- PIX - Network W
Is it possible to run Dynamic routing protocol only on the routers (A, B,C,D,E,F) to achieve load balancing between the network Z and W routers with PIX configured only for static rotuing ?

Hi
From my own perspective 2 options are viable here one is Configuring Active/Active failover in ur PIX firewall to take care of the Load balancing part from the local lan itself and bring onto the WAN(routers).
On your routers you can run either statics or simple dynamic routing protocols which can take care of the routing part.
Second option would be running either GLBP or HSRP in ur routers and have active/active configs in ur pix firewalls.
I feel if you go for the second option GLBP will be the best bet without much requirement on config alterations at the lan end.

Hi Prem
Thanks for your response.
Security Team doesnt allow the FW to run Active/Active status and have dynamic routing protocol in that.
I have only limited options. To upgrade the L2 Switch totally 4 nos to upgrade to Layer 3 Switch and do a load balancing effectively.
Is there any other way it can be achieved.?
