ED or MD

Hi folks, so after a string of our Cisco 1941W crashes, I have been playing with various versions of IOS. It seems all IOS versions available for download are either ED (Early Deployment) or MD (Maintenance Deployment). I never see a GD (General Deployment) for this router.

So far I have found Cisco IOS Software, C1900 Software (C1900-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.1(4)M4, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1) to be the most stable.

Please correct me if I am wrong but shouldn't one stay away from ED or MD versions since they are more test versions?
