EIGRP Q count

What is the impact if the Q count is changes from 0 to any value. Does it means a routing issue on the network.

The Q Count indicates the number of enqueued packets which indicates that the router is trying to send EIGRP packets but no acknowledgement is being received from the neighbor.

This could be due to some sort of communication problem between the neighbors or the neighbor is querying its neighbors which may lead to SIA

Q count resulting to non-zero value indicates issues in forming proper eigrp neighbourship.

Ideally Q count stands for the no. of eigrp packets( query,reply,update)which this device is trying to send to next device.

Non zero value shows this device is trying to send eigrp packets but it isnt reaching the other side as there is no acknowledgment received.

Also check the SRTT values..this shouldnt be zero.if it is .den its a routing issue where packets r not reaching other side or there is no ack from other side.

This most likely would be a physical issue on the link.The device will wait till 16 retries after which it will reset the neighbour relation with the other device and generate log indicating "retrylimit exceeded".after which the entire process has to start from scratch.Basically its unicast packs not being sent over the link..so relates to physical layer or L2 problem.
