Hi All,

we are facing issue for unstability of EIGRP neighbor with ISP router. Both router are connected via 3750 switch. There is no misconfiguration or physical media issue.I found the SDM template on the middle switch is desktop default, does this will impact ?

There error message seems to mean that the other neighbour stopped receiving your HELLOs and terminates the session. It could be due to blockage of the multicast traffic between the 2 routers.

You could try setting the EIGRP session as unicast and see if the problem persists. Also consider a direct attachment between the routers to see if the switch is causing the troubles.

Can you get the logs from the ISP router? The peer router is sending a termination message to your router so understanding why the ISP router is sending that message is key ro resolving the problem.

Your ISP is not getting an ACK for The update packets they are sending to you. If the problem was The hello packets The neighborship would never come up. Your ISP will try 16 times to get an ACK, then it will log a retry limit exceded and send a termination error, this takes around a minute.. This process is unicast, most common causes are MTU mismatches, or The bandwidth eigrp thinks It can use in The interface (50% by default). Do a show interface and check The bandwidth, if it is too low increase it. If you do a show ip eigrp neighbors you will ser The q count is never 0, this means packets are waiting to be sent
