erasing running-configuration in cisco IOS-XE

Hello everyone 
i am unable to  clear the running configuration  in cisco router
i had tried to clear by reloading the router 
but its nit happening can anyone help please

what does the startup config look like (sh startup-config) ? Is that different from the running config ?

I am not clear about the original post. The only action that is specifically mentioned is reload of the router. A simple reload will not erase the running config. Did the original poster do anything else besides reload the router?

The simple way to erase the running config is to erase the startup config (do not do a copy running startup or a write mem) and then reload.
