Hello,
I'm have a Layer3 etherchannel configured between a switch and a router. The problem I'm having is that if I shutdown the port channel interface on the switch side, the router still shows that it's side is up.
This is wrecking havoc with my hsrp configuration, because the router never detects that the switch side is down, so it never failsover to the secondary router on the secondary switch. By the way in my hsrp configuration I'm tracking the router's port channel interface.
So,
1. Switch side Po6 status Disabled due to shut command.
2. Router side Po6 status Up Up
I want the router side to bring its side in down down or up down state if the switch side is down.
Thanks for your feedbacks.

Hi,
What type of switch and router are you using?
Can you post the config from both the switch and the router?

Thanks for your replies. I'll check the keepalive suggestion to see how that works.
This is something I'm testing in lab environment as a proof of concept before trying to implement.
3650 Router with NM16 and another 3650 as the other side of the etherchannel.
