Factory Default Reset

Hello all,

My team already bought one 1800 Series router. And they setted some passwor.

Right now i am not able to login. I know the cisco password recovery method to reset the password.

Instead of password recovery method i want to try with total factory default setting.

is there is any method to do factory default without login

With password recovery, the router boots with factory default configuration.

At the prompt type wr mem and the default is then saved.

Then configure the startup register again.

Hi there,

a) enter in rommon configuration

b) rename config.text config.old

c) reboot the router

d) once the router loaded the IOS just erase the config.old file

Do a 'write erase' command and 'reload.'

No, you need to get into device and erase the config.

Since you know the password recovery, perform this step and then once in erase the config.
