Dear All,
I want to provide pigtail connectivity in the LIU end of our premise. I have planned to use the SC-SC fiber patch cord for the same. I will cut the patch cord into half and make it into pigtail patch cord. After doing this can i directly connect it to the Switch SC Port or is there anything which i need to use before connecting it to the switch.
Regards,
R. Rajaraman.

I am not aware of pigtail connectivity, but check with the below URl for cable specifications : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps988/products_technical_reference_chapter09186a0080080308.html

Hi Pengke,
Thanks for your reply.
The document which you have referred to is not having any details about the pigtail. My query is very clear. i want to know after splicing one end of the fiber patch cord will i be able to connect the other end with SC connector diretly to a Switch SC port ?
Kindly clarify this doubt. I was not able to find any document on this query.
Regards,

There is a standard minimum lenght of 3 feet for the SC-SC patch cord which you need to comply with. If the cable lenght is shorter than that, there is a high possibility that you will have signal loss / intermitent singal on the module due to calbe leght.
regards.
