The flow control you have in mind is Ethernet flow control?

Doubtful.  First, the actual volume of broadcasts that might cause an issue might not be high enough to trigger flow control pauses.  Second, if it did trigger, the sender is only delayed, i.e. it will send the broadcast when it resumes its transmission.

Additionally since flow control normally pauses all transmission, it could delay other traffic.  A better solution should be usage of a broadcast storm suppression feature, if supported.

Hi,

if you meant storm control. then please see the doco below. It gives you an idea to stop broadcast storm
