GLBP configuration issue

I have two routers connecting to two ISP's from my central office. DHCP is configuraed on bothe routers .Two load balance and redundancy i configured GLBP ( instead of MHSRP) on the routers. However I could see frequent disconnects to internet from users.

ISP A-----Router A ------

                                    Layer 3 switch ---- Layer 2 switches

ISP B-----Router B ------

What could be the issue?

Hi, without anymore information I would take a straight forward approach to troubleshooting this. Given that you load balance outbound across the two ISP's it could be that one of them has connectivity issues, I would disconnect one, run for a period (2-3 hours) and check the incidence of disconnects. Then reconnect and run the test on the other ISP.

if it shows that one link has more issues than the other work with that ISP to troubleshoot the issue.

If the problem goes away then its probably local, and we would need to troubleshoot your configuration.

HTH,

Andy

Hi Andy,

This approach is really good. however there were no issues with any of the ISPs.We tested this. Here are the configurations on both routers :

Router 1:

interface GigabitEthernet0/1
 ip address 192.168.100.2 255.255.255.0
 ip nat inside
 ip virtual-reassembly in
 glbp 2 ip 192.168.100.1
 glbp 2 priority 254
 glbp 2 preempt
 glbp 2 load-balancing host-dependent
 duplex auto
 speed auto

Router 2 :

interface GigabitEthernet0/1
 ip address 192.168.100.4 255.255.255.0
 ip nat inside
 ip virtual-reassembly in
 glbp 2 ip 192.168.100.1
 duplex auto
 speed auto

Is there anything worng with this config?

Thanks for your reply
