Hi there.
I am trying to find out if it is possible for GRE to do the same trick as L2TP the following is the feature I am looking for.
In L2TP when the LAC sets up a tunnel, the LNS-router can return an IP@ from a "ip local pool" of IP addresses to the LAC. Is the same functionality available in GRE??
This is in connection with GPRS where the GGSN is the LAC and a customers router is the LNS. The customers router returns an IP@ that the LAC/GGSN will send to the mobile. Works great with L2TP, but it seems we have to implement GRE, so if anybody out there could help it would be great.
Thanks
Peter.

I am assuming in your case, you are using vrf to tunnel a connection from the GGSN to a customer router. I think with a GRE tunnel, you will need to use "DHCP" to assign an IP address to the mobile node. Under the access point config mode, you would configure the DHCP server.
dhcp-gateway-address ip-address
dhcp-server {ip-address} [ip-address] [vrf]

I hope this helps.
