I have an 877W that I want to have ready as a backup to our existing router. I was able to coopy the config from the new router to the old one, but the new router still had some factory default settings left on it that were conflicting with the new settingsd. What command do I use to remove the existing configuration. Like a clear memory command? Then I can paste in my new config, and write it to the memory.
Thanks for the help.

You can erase it with:
wr erase
You'll need to reload the router and don't save the config when doing so
reload
System configuration has been modified. Save? [yes/no]: NO

Thanks for the quick response. When do I paste the new configuration? After the reload?

Yes...when it comes back up it won't have a config other than the very basics.
And then write after you verify
