High CPU on 7606-S

Hi,

Can anyone help diagnose high CPU on newly installed 7606.

CPU utilization for five seconds: 61%/59%; one minute: 62%; five minutes: 63%

High CPU here is result of interrupts, which in most cases is data traffic hitting the CPU.

X/y in the output X-> total CPU y-> How much of it is interrupt

You need to determine what is this traffic.

If you using Sup720 and a newer image you can run netdr capture

Router# debug netdr cap rx

wait for 5 seconds

Router# show netdr capture

There could be many reasons why traffic is punted to CPU and can be found here:

Perform the netdr capture and after that make sure you turn off netdr capture (no debug netdr cap all)
