I am looking at something that I believe is a possible problem but can't determine. I have a router with only two interfaces - serial T1 WIC and FastE. The serial is a 768K frame circuit that is continuously running 95% utilization on both the transmit and recieve, but the FE interface shows less than 10k bps so it doesn't appear that there is traffic passing throught the serial to the ethernet and vise versa. Is this a problem?

Hello,
are you running a routing protcol (e.g. EIGRP) on your router/interface ?
You could try and enable netflow accounting on the interface (with the interface command ´ip route-cache flow´) and then check if you can see which protocol is using the bandwidth with the exec command ´show ip cache flow´...
Regards,
GP

Thanks for your reply. As it turns out, there are two PVCs connected to the frame port, and EIGRP was using them as a pass through to another destination. That is why I saw all the traffic on the serial side, but not much on the ethernet.
