Hello,
is there a way to get the FULL version revision on the ASA or any other IOS device for that matter.
e.g.
Cisco security advisory states Recommended release 8.2(5.33)
show version displays 8.2(5)
Cisco Download just shows Latest release 8.2.5 ED
So I suppose I could check the MD5 sum of the latest release against what I have installed.
But there must be a way to get the full release number .
TIA
Stuart

The file name should show the full release. In my case the "show version" shows the full release and the file name reflects that.
fw1# show ver
Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software Version 8.2(5)26
...
System image file is "disk0:/asa825-26-k8.bin"

Thanks glen.
My confusion was that at the top of the downloads it has the section "Latest releases"
I had assumed this is the latest release of each minor version. But it isn't !
All the interim releases for the same minor version number are more recent than the version in the latest release section.
So for a number of years I have been incorrectly installing the initial releases with potential security flaws.
