How do I disable the SS7 encapsulation on a router?

I am having issues with my line protocol being down on a 2600 router. The only difference between my router and the next persons, who's is up, is the encapsulation. I cannot change it to HDLC like I need to. I do not have access to this right now as I am not in class. I have been banging my head against a wall for a few days trying to figure it out. Any ideas would be welcomed.

A little clarity to the question here. For some reason when i run the show interfaces command, my serial connections have an encapsulation of SS7 MTPS2. This is a VoIP encapsulation I believe. Is there any way to change this to HDLC?
