You might be able to use the logging filter command along with a TCL script.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/netmgmt/command/reference/nm_09.html#wp1063469

But seriously, you should get the root cause taken care of - get the fan fixed or RMA the router. If you are really concern about important message, you should use a syslog server. Logging buffer will not store any data if the router is rebooted.

Good information, Jerry. +5

I dont know Jerry..... These fans are noisy, cause syslog messages and consume power.  Who needs them!!!    I'll give ya 5 points for the effort though.

Thank you Sir, i will check and let you know, have been busy:-s

Your link directed me in right direction , here is how i managed it, full marks for you too for directing me towards resolution

logging discriminator nolog msg-body drops Fan

logging buffered discriminator nolog

logging console discriminator nolog

this link was with exact resolution

Thank you for the advice! The fan was replaced but still receive the same error.

I had this error on my 2811

sh env all

Main Power Supply is AC

Fan 1 OK
Fan 2 OK
Fan 3 Low RPM

Fan Speed Setting: Normal

System Temperature: 26 Celsius (normal)

I bought a broken 2811 and exchanged fan #3.  Now I have:

sh env

Main Power Supply is AC

Fan 1 OK
Fan 2 OK
Fan 3 OK

Fan Speed Setting: Normal

System Temperature: 25 Celsius (normal)

Environmental information last updated 00:00:00 ago

The fan #3 with low RPM had a broken blade, also the bearings were going and the fan blade was not freely spinning.  This fan, unlike the other 2 fans, is ducted directly to the power supply.  So, doing nothing about it eventually the power supply would overheat and possibly fail.

The fan that came out was the following model:

Brand : NMB
Model : 1611KL-04W-B59
AC/DC : DC
Voltage : 12V
Current : 0.39A
Connector : 2 Wires / 3 Wires
Fan Type : Axial
Size : 40 mm x 40 mm x 28 mm

There are kits available with 3 fans in them, 2 thin ones and one thicker longer one.  Fans #1 and #2 work together so if one fails there's still cooling, fan#3 is the only one for the power supply.  I have noticed some of those kits advertise "quieter" fans.  However, with the small 1U fans, a quieter one will move lower CFM.  The only way to make a fan quieter and keep the same CFM airflow is to make it bigger.
