To anyone

I want to make a Netgear wireless AP for Guest users in our office to only have WWW access.

I was told by Cisco support to create another VLAN2 and configure the FE1 on the Cisco 891 as a trunk and put the Netgear AP on the VLAN2.

Here is the general current diagram of my network is.

Cisco 891=======Cisco SLM248G====Netgear AP and DLink AP all on VLAN1 by default from Switch.

I have one CAT5 Cable connected from port 47 on the switch to the Cisco 891 FE1(VLAN1 Default) port and the Netgear AP is connected from the Patch panel port 22 to the Cisco switch port number 20.

I have another cable connected from the Cisco Switch port 24 to FE2 on the Cisco 891 router.

Question is when creating Trunk for the Cisco 891 router to the switch do I need to the 2nd network cable from the Cisco switch port 24 to FE2 on the Cisco router.

I will attach what the Cisco tech told me to do in config the Cisco router in a text format.

Should I do this after hours when my work place is closed. Will this affect the VLAN1 which my users are currently on.
