Hi ,

Better to change the router, if you need only this interface.

No, I can't change the router.

Is there any similar card I could use for the CISCO2801?

Hi,

You can fix it. You have to buy a new PVDM2 card and install it in your router to bring up all of the channels.

Yes that is fine, I can do that.

But what card do you suggest to buy instead of the HWIC-2CE1T1-PRI?

Hi Juan,

There is no other card :

there is only way ..that is to make 24 channels:

In order to fire up a PRI, you need that PVDM to be at least 24 channels

(the one here is only 8). You would have to pull this one and put in a

PVDM2-32 to be able to accomplish what you need.

Hi Sandeep, the problem of Juan is that HWIC-2CE1T1-PRI is not supported on 2801 (as per documentation), so no matter how many DSP you are going to add, there will still be no PRI available.

Juan, what is the exact requirement you need?

Is the PRI needed for voice or for data calls?

An example for voice calls can be:

VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 - 1-Port RJ-48 Multiflex Trunk - T1/E1
+
PVDM2-64 - PVDMII DSP SIMM with four DSPs

However, before to buy any equipment, it's always better to double check with your local Cisco office.

Hope this helps
Marco

HI Marco,

Thats what I wrote to Juan .. that this router not supported PRI interface ... and gave advice to buy other router like 2811 but he can not buy other one.

He wants to try with this ...by adding PVDM channels then let him try.

But it not 100% sure that after adding these channels , he can use for PRI interface.

@Juan:

Better to buy a new router, which supported the PRI interface like cisco2811....

If you can not buy then ...try to install these channels on your risk(Just advice from my side.)
