Please look at the two links above

Why with HyperTermianl do I need to configure "flowcontrol" to "None".

While in SecureCRT I have to configure to "RTS/CTS" ?

I don't know for certain, I think you're saying that you *must* turn on RTS/CTS with SecureCRT (I use it and I don't have any handshake configured).

Are you using a Cisco cable and serial adapter? If not, perhaps the adapter is pinned with RTS/CTS and your PC see it and makes you configure for it.

HyperTerminal is pretty lame (the earlier the version, the lamer it gets) . HyperTerm's version of "hardware handshake" is DSR/DTR and may not be seeing the RTS/CTS at all.

There's no way to tell with the information given, but I believe it'll be something like how each program defines "hardware handshake."

Good Luck

" I think you're saying that you *must* turn on RTS/CTS with SecureCRT "

Yes, I am saying that.

I meant why when we compare between these two utilities (CRT and HyperTermianl), we need to turn on RTS/CTS under one of this utility (SecureCRT), while the other utility (HyperTerminal) we do not need to use CRT/CTS (we use word : "none")?

"Are you using a Cisco cable and serial adapter"

Yes I am using Cisco console cable.

" HyperTerm's version of "hardware handshake" is DSR/DTR "

Is this the latest than the one comes with Windows OS ?
