Hi,
Some one asked this question in Interview.
why iBGP peers should be directly connected?

That question does not really make sense.
There is absolutely no reason for iBGP peers to be directly connected. In fact, more often than not, IBGP peers are *not* directly connected.
Now, if the question was for eBGP peers, that would be more close to the truth since eBGP peers are typically directly connected.

Yes Paresh,
eBGP peers should be directly connected.
iBGP peers need not to be connected directly.

Hello,
iBGP peers should not be directly connected, a peer relationship can be established between peers that are not directly connected, but for eBGP peers they should be directly connected.
but iBGP peers should be fully meshed becasue an iBGP peer will not advertise a route that is learned from an iBGP peer, so they must be full mesh or use route-reflectors or confiderations. Regards
