ios for eol product

hello everyone,hope you are have a great day so far.

is it possible to get ios for a router(1841) that reached EOL status?

i have looked for the ios on https://software.cisco.com/download/home and found nothing for 1841 and i found nothing on google,i got my self a 1841 and 2960 for a home lab and i am trying to get the c1841-adventerprisek9-mz.124-24.t5.bin (currently have the ipbase).

any help will be highly appreciated thanks in advance.

This particular model of router is already way past the end-of-support date.
All documentation and files, including firmware files, are no longer available to the public.
If you have the exact filename of the firmware then Google is your friend.

unfortunately Cisco removes any files and links for EOL gear.  your only option is google it

If you have the exact filename of the firmware then Google is your friend.

And after googling, downloading from an unknown server, and installing the IOS, you silently speak to your self: "And now only hope will help me because I know that IOS-malware exists". But as you are only placing this device in a separate and firewalled network and not into your home network, everything is fine.


"IOS-malware exists" - really? How can we get more info about malware for IOSes?

thank you all for your response, unfortunately i already ran a google search before posting here and i found nothing so far, as for ios malware as long as the ios will still work it will be fine by me since i am not even connecting this gear to my lan.

any way thank again for the responses and for Karsten Iwen thanks for sharing this info with us,i was actually unaware about that.
